Webinar: What Role Will Bio-Based Materials Play in Construction by 2030?
Join us on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. We are delighted to share the following with the industry:
- key messages about the bio-based materials sector and its drivers for a low-carbon transition,
- The results of the call for innovations Following an initial briefing on the concrete industry and an innovation portfolio, The Hub for Low-Carbon Decision-Makers has chosen to examine the bio-based materials sector from the perspective of carbon neutrality. Recent decisions under the RE2020 have brought bio-based materials to the forefront.
But what role will bio-based materials play in the construction industry by 2030?What will the availability challenges be?Which sectors and products are already ready for large-scale deployment?
The hub sought to address these questions by proposing a definition of bio-based materials, analyzing the challenges of carbon accounting, and providing an objective overview of bio-based sectors, their decarbonization potential, and best practices. An overview of the sectors’ short- and medium-term trajectories will be provided and compared with the national goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. To consolidate the current state of the sector and identify operational and innovative solutions, the Low-Carbon Prescribers Hub organized a call for innovation on “bio-based materials,” the results of which will be unveiled during the webinar. IFPEB, Carbone 4, and the members invite you to join them to share the key messages from the bio-based materials sector brief.
The webinar will also provide an opportunity for the two project leaders—selected by the members as part of the call for innovation—to present their bio-based solution to you.
